My First Stock Sale

I’m only writing on this now because I just got done looking for what I have due tomorrow and nothing is really that bad, just like two questions for the physics pre-lab and a stats homework assignment that I’m going to have to hardcore b.s.

Well because there was a better than expected job outgrowth reported Friday, it was a pretty good bet that stocks were gonna be up big time today. The only thing is, Friday was a market holiday because of Easter and I’m sure would have skyrocketed all stocks, but because investors had the weekend to think it over they were alot more cautious about buying. Seems pretty stupid huh.

Anyways so I get out of my Stats class at get home around 11am and check my stocks - Intel was already up 5o cents! At first I saw the “today’s change” quote and it had said +150, but I thought at first that the current stats just hadn’t loaded yet and they were still displaying yesterday’s quote but I waited about a second and it wasn’t!

Now my general rule of thumb throughout my entire ownage of Intel stock was that as soon as I reached a dollar profit from when I bought the shares I would dump it. Well, the stock was doing pretty good so I decided to watch it and see if there was any signs of slowing. I watched it get all the way up to 65 cents, and then it started to fall a couple pennies. When this happened, I decided it was the right time to dump it, because I figured that since it gained so much today it wouldn’t gain much more today anyways and that the way it goes it would probably drop again tomorrow. So I sold it and after commisson and pre-taxes, I got $240. Not bad for only having it a couple weeks and not having to work at all for it. I’m going to buy more risky/cheaper stock from now on though, better return.

Today Albert Julie and I went to Lowe’s and then to Staples so I could buy the L desk I saw there yesterday. I was really glad to see that it hadn’t been bought yet and when Julie and I were looking at it we realized something we didn’t pick up on before. There was a seperate price tag on both of thee desks, for $80, and we realized that 80 bucks would be much too cheap for one desk and that I would have to pay 80 for both of them and with the hutch it would cost me a total of $210, just 30 bucks short of what I made that day. But when I got the guy to come over and help me buy it, he only grabbed only one of the tags and it was true that it was only 80 bucks, and I was really surprised and happy, so I got the whole thing for $140 which I think was a really good deal.

After that we all went to Ka Ya, Julie’s treat. We went to the Korean restaurant that was next to Kroger’s first but for some reason they are closed on Mondays. I got a bulgogi box, not realizing that the box actually meant that I was going to get sushi and other things I didn’t want with it. All I wanted was some spicy bulgogi and rice!

Friday I pretty much spent the whole day working on my physics homework. I was able to answer all of them except one; something like - A skier goes off a cliff at a 60 degree angle and reaches a height of 11 meters- how fast is the skier’s initial velocity? Julie and I waited until 11pm trying to figure it out, and in the end we just started guessing. It was really funny how Julie was having a fun time trying to guess it with me and would say “Are you suuuure?” when I said I was gonna do it, it was really cute. That same night, I called Carlos asked him if he wanted to go over to Nate’s and he did. Julie and I met him at Burrito Noches and then went to the gas station and after much debating I picked up a couple cases of beers - Killian’s and Pabs. I got the bottles because I couldn’t really find much else and they were on sale, and also because I’ve never had Killians before and I thought maybe they liked it. It’s kinda funny cuz when I got there and they saw I got it they kinda made fun of me for it and they thought I really liked it. I was originally gonna get a 24 pack of budweiser and I was literally holding it in my hand but I remembered how Nate dissed budweiser when I told him I bought their stock a few weeks ago so I put it back and got what I just said. We went to Nate’s house and played guitar hero with one guitar, it was kinda lame. Jackie was there before we got there, and it was nice to hear her admit how much JSO sucked. We played a bunch of wii bowling game rounds though but only because I pushed for it. Julie is so good at it she gets strikes without even trying and throwing the ball really high in the air I’ve been trying to copy her but so far I’ve been unsuccessful.

Saturday night was lame too, and we spent the night hanging out at Nate’s again. While picking up Vanessa and her one Anastacia friend, the one girl that wears suits and ties, we saw Charlie smoking outside and we invited him to come and he said sure. After he came in he gave me and Nate a kiss on the forehead that I didn’t approve of too much. I finally met the Weiss guy that night, he seems ok. We started watching the sequal to One Missed Call but I started to fall asleep at the beginning of the movie and Nate got pissed and woke me up and said we’re all outta there, so he took us home.
