Japanese Peperoncino Recipe – Yaki Udon Fried Noodles

-->

This Yaki Udon Japanese Peperoncino Recipe is super easy to make and a delicious edition to your daily diet.  It was given to me by a friend and it seems this way of making it is quite common.  I’m happy to have it as a part of my regular dining schedule and I hope you will too.

Preparation is quick and only a few ingredients are needed, so let’s begin.

Needed Ingredients (1 serving):

  • About 45 grams of Onions
  • About 25 grams of Bacon
  • About 90 grams of Cabbage
  • 1 pack of Udon Noodles
  • About 20 ml of Garlic Oil
  • 1 Clove of Garlic
  • 1 Dried Chili
  • Salt for flavor

That’s it!  The variety of ingredients is small but it carries a big taste.

How to Cook:

  1. Cut the cabbage, slice the onions, chop the garlic, and cut the bacon into strips
  2. Put the olive oil in a frying pan along with the chili and garlic and begin to heat.
  3. Cook until the garlic begins to change color, and then add the onions and bacon and heat until the onions are thoroughly cooked
  4. Add the cabbage and about 30 ml of water and let sit for 5 minutes with the pan covered.
  5. Finally, put in the udon noodles and just a pinch of salt.

Voila!  You know have a delicious dish of Yaki Udon Peperoncino, otherwise known to us layman as Japanese Fried Noodles.  You may add some additional olive oil after the cooking is done (my friend loves dousing his), but it’s only a suggestion.

I don’t think it’s part of Japanese custom, but I enjoy having a glass of Red Wine with my dish.  Try it out and see how you like it!
