He may not be aware of it, but there are a few signs leading to the fact that Kanye West might be an Otaku.
One of them is that he is consistently tying his work with Japanese culture and influences. The techno pop song “Stronger” is a great example of this, and he includes scenes of Tokyo and Japanese streets in his music videos.
The video has red katakana flashing throughout most of it. Half of it is accurate translation, and the other half is truly Kanye West Japanese: Japanese that totally doesn’t make any sense.
On top of that, he created a music video in tribute of his inspiration from the Japanese anime Akira. It seems like there is no stopping this black Otaku boy wonder from continuing his quest to take over the small island of Japan for himself and spread his love for the culture throughout the rest of the world.
