Fox News Voting

The way you beat votes like this is by having a little armed band of militants — did I say armed? — no, a band of merry pranksters with a mailing list. At the right time, send out a mass mailing, saying, “Hey, there’s a vote, go ahead and vote! Use a friend’s cell phone to vote twice,” etc. The Ron Paul people are motivated and can easily mold the results. I was on a MoveOn list just like this in ‘04. There were competitions on places like MSNBC. Some poll would appear, and Bush would surge to the lead because FreeRepublic or another right-wing website had put up the news. So then the MoveOn — I think it was them, but 2004 seems so long ago — voting would begin, and we’d surge in a few minutes and overwhelm them. Then the other side would notice that and push the meter the other way.

We won every vote I participated in, and MSNBC took their polls down the next morning. It was just a target for clicks, boys.

That said, Ron Paul was very good last night, exposing the idiocy of FOX, and the GOP contestants for “How Long Can YOU Stay in Iraq?”

As Vietnam was winding down, Nixon ran on “Peace… with Honor,” whatever that means. We were warned over and over again that the sky would fall, that untold billions of Asians would curse America while they fell beneath the boot of communists, and you wouldn’t even be able to get a good spring roll anymore in the U.S. None of it turned out to be true. Yes, there was Cambodia, which fell to the Khmer Rouge once our bombing got Prince Sihanouk out of there. Who were they saved by? The Vietnamese Army, of course. Where are the dominoes that fell? Laos and Burma are under the boot of their drug-financed, and oil-financed militaries. Not communist, a heroin dictatorship and an oil dictatorship. If the Republic of Vietnam had won — how, I don’t know — there would still be those semi-feudal military regimes back in the hinterlands.

Best thing we could do is get the hell out.
