Cents not Dollars

11.25 CENTS not dollars. I found out when I was in Stats class in front of the computer, and when I tried to login to sharebuilder to cancel the order the login was screwy and I had to keep logging in until I disabled cookies. I rushed to cancel the order but it was too late, it was posted and in full swing. So now I have 261 shares of Intel stock that I want to get rid of. Just my luck too that Intel is on a down streak lately and the stock has dropped a dollar since I had it so I’m out $100 right now. That’s ok though because it will go back up, I just hope soon. Once it reaches a buck up, I’m gonna dump it.

Today is my first class of radiology 200, immediately after physics class so I will probably be a little late like I always am getting to that building which will probably make me look bad. I’m really nervous about it, and I have a good feeling that they’re gonna ask us to introduce ourselves in front of the class and have us explain why we want to do radiology – ugh! For the money and easiness of the job – that’s why! But I can’t say that so I’m going to have to say “because I care about people” and that kinda crap. Well that part is a bonus but the real reasons are easiness money and job security. Just like when I studied Japanese and they asked me why I was interested in it I couldn’t tell them hot chicks so I had to say bullshit like “oh I like the culture” and that kinda stuff. Everybody has to do it I guess. ok maybe i’ll write more later but I gotta go in a hour and decide what to wear :/

I have class tomorrow.

Tomorrow is the first day of Spring classes. I’m taking stats, physics, and radiology 200. I haven’t paid for the quarter yet because I still have to get ahold of mom.

Turns out the Intel $11.25 per share dividend is true. I want to invest $5,000 ASAP before the share prices go any higher. That would buy me 250 shares and at $11.25 per share I would get $2812.50 before taxes are taken out. As long as Intel doesn’t go bankrupt within the next few months, I’m guarenteed to get that much.

Let’s see what happened yesterday. Albert got ahold of Julie and I and said that he would take us out for lunch, his treat, and so we went to the Hong Kong Buffet. After eating we went back to his apartment and spent some time up in his room listening to some of his karoake recordings from when he sang in Korea. It was ok listening to his first song or two but he just kept playing his songs and it got really boring after awhile, but I pretended to keep interest because I know it meant alot to him. Actually he’s not that bad of a singer but when he messes up he really messes up.

Well we decided we had nothing to do that day so we all went to Kroger and bought some alcohol and fruit. We got a bottle of white russian and one of those big bottles of cheap vodka for like $7.50 or something, and a sour apple chaser, and strawberries and tangerines. We went back to his place and he started making bulgogi, right after we got done eating at the chinese buffet restaurant! We were all full but he made it anyways.

So what we did was put the bulgogi frying pot on his living room table along with all the fruit and we started taking shots of soju and eating at 4pm. We turned on the tv to MTV2 to have some music and well Fergy played alot and I didn’t even know who she was until he told me.

It was pretty lame for awhile. We were struggling with things to talk about, and since we already ate at the chinese and buffet and were full we weren’t getting any pleasure of eating the snacks we made. I think probably after the two soju bottles and a little bit into the cheap vodka and sour apple chaser it started to get fun. It always seems like when you start drinking at a place you don’t like or you think it’s not going to be fun once you start drinking and get a little drunk it becomes the best place to be. We ran out of the apple chaser faster than we did of the vodka and so we had to mix up and pour the “fluids” into different bottles and it was pretty funny.

Donna came by later and she just had one beer and drove us back to my house for the little party. Before we left Donna reminded Albert of the birthday drink and so he got out ranch dressing, barbeque sauce, the rest of the soup from the spicy nong shim noodles we ate, and I guess some of the alcohol too and was making Julie to drink it. I told her I would drink it for her if she asked me to but she didn’t and she drink it in the bathroom over the toilet. She drank it all at once, but right after threw up. Julie was mad at him and called him a loser for the rest of the night.

When we got to my house there were more people there than I had expected. Nate, Jared, Ayaka, were all already there and having a good time. Albert was really really drunk and passed out on the living room couch. Donna and Julie mostly sat in the middle room and didn’t talk to the others much. Nate was really drunk and rocking out with Queen. Nate said that he tried talking to Donna and Albert but they didn’t talk to him and were just speaking to each other in Korean and he told them that he felt uncomfortable sitting with them because they were speaking korean and so he left. He thought that they were talking about him in Korean or something which is stupid. The party wasn’t really that fun but I tried to act like I was having alot of fun by smiling alot and stuff. I don’t really like doing that I’m going to have to stop it. The party was ok but it wasn’t that much fun I thought, even though I think everyone else had a good time but I couldn’t really tell for sure.

Donna didn’t think that anyone at the party wanted to go to karoake so she left and took Albert home. The fact is after she left Nate really wanted to go to karoake as well as pretty much everyone else and we called Donna to see if she still wanted to go but it didn’t work out. Nate was really pissed and was like “why the fuck did you think we didn’t want to go to karoake? We were totally singing and dancing in the living room like the whole time”. I then ate some spicy noodles again and I gave Nate some and he kept talking about how he loved them and the spicyness of them and how it reminded him of his first encounter with curry.

Julie was up most of the night with a stomach ache and puking it wasn’t fun, I felt sick and stuffed too. We were alot better in the morning. Julie made kimchi rice for breakfest and I sent her off home. It’s 9pm right now and I think I’m gonna go over to her place in a little while to watch tv with her.

Julie’s Birthday

Julie and I mostly just hung out at her dorm today watching tv and stuff. We tried to get ahold of Albert for lunch but since he already had it we were trying to think of a place to go, Julie wanted to go to Apollo’s because she had a coupon for them but we ended up deciding on Joy’s village.

At Joy’s I got something new I got like a sauteed beef with black pepper sauce dish and Julie got her regular she said which is pad thai chicken. We ate all of the plates I helped her finish quite alot. As we were walking out of the place stuffed, some guy looking like my age and unshaven yelled down “Hey man I’m hungry you think you can buy me a sandwich or something”. It’s hard for me to just say straight out no to those people because I feel sorry for them and because it would be mean but also because I don’t want to piss them off and make them do something crazy. But yeah so after we walked past him he said “Aw man, nobody likes me!” and he followed us for a couple of blocks before leaving. Later Julie and I joked and laughed about that the rest of the day because well it’s funny and because she said it reminded her of Sean. But after he left another bum asked us for money and followed us a couple of blocks again too. I think it’s because it’s spring break and there’s not so many students out to pester on High Street and so when you’re walking down there you’re prime target.

Since Julie was turning 21 tonight at midnight and she could drink we decided that me, sean, nate, and ayaka, and julie would go to the Ugly Tuna Saloona. Felice was going to come too but for some reason she didn’t end up coming. After we spent a shitload of money at the bar for just a couple of drinks and weren’t even wasted, we went to Nate’s house and played a little bit of guitar hero and wii sports. Julie was the best player tonight, me the worst. I really really wanted to play the fishing game and balloon click game I played at John’s house during break but he didn’t have it.

My longtime friend out of nowhere IMed me today. He says that he’s still in Florida right now and is going to move to California to finish the rest of his art school and cartooning. It’s always kind of weird when old friends get ahold of you or see you and then you don’t have anything to talk about since it’s been along time since you’ve seen each other. But I think some people are like that and some people you can get along with just like you never seperated, and Scott is kinda like those people. We’ll see how our talks go but I doubt it will do any of us good since we’re both on the other side of the country.

John said that Intel announced that for every share you own of Intel they are going to give you $11.25 every fiscal quarter, which is a ridiculous amount of money since Intel stock is only $20 a share right now. He was so excited about it that he opened up his own account at scott trade or something like that after he heard about it. I’m going to have to look into those numbers because $11 sounds like a crazy amount of money for $20 but if it’s true I’ll be buying some serious Intel stock quick.

So now today is Julie’s birthday and I have no cake for her and no card for her and I’m wondering how I can get it without her knowing.

Spring Break and Stocks

I’m on Spring Break. I ended up getting better than expected grades this quarter, but I can’t fuck anymore classes up. For all of the classes if I would have tried just a fraction harder I know I could have Aced them all.

I bought my first stocks today :)
It’s alot easier than everyone makes it sound. I think it’s kind of like computers and the internet with people, there’s people that don’t know how to use computers and their scared to use them because they don’t know much about them and all they do is say “I’m not very computer-illiterate” and “I’m not good with computers, I don’t know anything about them” and just give up. Yeah I think that’s the same way people are with the idea of buying stocks too. I’m really hoping to save for a good nest egg for when I retire but I really need a real job to get a good investment flow going.

Investment goals:
Have enough money in the bank, have money in stocks, and own and rent housing. Pretty much be a real boy.

Right now:
money from adsense –> investing in stocks –> stock dividends –> help renting houses –> easy life for me and my wife and a solid investing starting point for my kids.

I bought $50 of Sirius (SIRI) Satellite Radio stock and $60 of Budweiser stock. Although Sirius doesn’t offer dividends, there’s alot of news about it as it is talks with the FCC and US anti-trust about a possible merger with XM Radio. Probably won’t happen, probably will happen. I’ll keep my 13.9 shares of it, if it gets really awesome it will split, and then split, and then split, so I’m not really caring about growth stock, what I’m really focusing in on are ones that are gonna be around probably until I die and pay dividend like YUM, COK, PEP, and of course BUD.
