Well it’s been a long time since the last time I made an entry, and alot has happened. Namely, that I’ve changed majors. In fact right now I’m sitting in the number 41 terminal at the Narita airport by myself (because I think I’m too early) waiting to go back home. Yeah. Japan really wasn’t as nice as I had thought it would be. Too put it quite frankly, Japan pretty much sucks unless your in Tokyo, if you’re anywhere else you might as well be on the moon.
For starters what really sucked is that well, there’s nothing in Japan to fucking do. You know, I live in a really really small town in America, or so I thought, At least there when I’m bored I can at least to go to wal-mart or meijier or look around at shit. Japan is different. None of that stuff is there. There are no Best Buys, no Wal-Marts, when you’re moving into somewhere you have to go to 5 different fucking places to buy all your stuff. Like there version I guess of Best Buy which was a denkiya, was so-so and there was only one and it was really far away.
Another bad thing is that Japan is fucking hot. For the first two weeks I don’t think there was a time when I didn’t stop sweating it was so bad. Also, Taka has no internet, and when we tried to get internet for Kevin they said it takes three weeks to receive. Three weeks! why that long?
So for the majority of the time I just stayed at Taka’s room and watched Japanese tv, which consisted of like 11 channels. Pretty much all of them they show boring talk shows all day, they love watching them talk shows. What happens is, before they actually show something, they discuss and guess what will happen, while it happnes they keep talking about what is happening, and when it is over with they draw all kinds of superflous maps and diagrams and graphs and continue talking about it.
Also, another thing with foreigners. The thing is that people here won’t care if you are a foreigner or not, they see them all the time. I read on the internet how they always look at you on the bus and that guys have “gaijin power” here with the girls and everything but it’s nothing but a lie. I think a big reason people think the japanese look at foreigners is because at least with americans all the americans that visit japan are really weird i mean if i was in america i would stare at them too because they would be so fucking weird.
While watching tv too, and interacting with the people, I soon found out that translations between the two languages is not needed, and that also I don’t have the kind of skills to translate anyways. To gain the same level as they are now id have spend so thousands more and more time too and still it woudln’t matter. Thats what I realized while here.
Also I’m pretty pissed at Jeff because he was a dick when I was here and wouldn’t answer me when I’d ask questions about japanese.
i should talk about japan later when i get back, and about the times with pei and the family before i left, for later, when i get back.
